Sales Coaching

Turn Inquiries into “I Do’s” – Master the Art of the Close. Many wedding and event professionals get into the business because they love creating amazing experiences… not because they love “sales.” We get it – selling your services can feel uncomfortable or downright daunting if you’re not a natural salesperson. That’s why Local Buzz offers Sales Coaching specifically tailored for the wedding and events industry. We help you (or your team) develop the skills and confidence to seal the deal with potential clients, without ever coming across as pushy or sleazy. In fact, we’ll help you make your sales process feel like a natural extension of your hospitality – because really, booking a client is just the start of taking care of them!

Inquiry Response Training

The clock is ticking as soon as a lead comes in. We’ll teach you how to respond quickly and effectively to inquiries – whether via email, phone, or social media. This includes having templates that don’t sound like templates (personalization is key), asking the right questions to understand the client’s needs, and setting the next step (like scheduling a tour or consultation) in a way that feels helpful, not pushy.

Venue Tour & Consultation Mastery

For venues, the site tour is the make-or-break moment. For other vendors, it might be an initial consultation or meeting. We coach you on how to wow clients in person: everything from the greeting, the flow of your meeting, storytelling techniques to connect emotionally, to handling tricky questions (like pricing discussions or objections). We’ll even dive into body language and how to read the couple’s or client’s cues. You’ll learn to highlight your value in a way that resonates with what that particular client cares about (e.g., if they mention they love photography, you’ll emphasize your venue’s photo spots; if they’re budget-conscious, you’ll focus on value and flexibility).

Follow-Up and Persistence

(Without Annoyance)

After the tour or initial chat, what's next? We provide a structured follow-up game plan. Maybe it’s a “thank you for visiting” email the next day with a personalized note about what they liked. Maybe it’s a gentle check-in a week later if you haven’t heard back. We have proven follow-up scripts and schedules that keep you on the client’s radar in a friendly way. You’d be amazed how many bookings are lost simply because of a lack of follow-up. Not on our watch – you’ll be a follow-up pro (who doesn’t feel like a stalker, promise).

Closing Techniques & Handling Objections

When a client is on the fence, what do you do? We’ll role-play common objections like “We need to think about it,” “It’s a bit above our budget,” or “We’re considering other options.” You’ll learn techniques to address concerns, emphasize unique selling points, and create urgency (for example, a soft nudge like “Just to let you know, we have only two spots left for October bookings”). Importantly, we teach ethical sales – listening more than you talk, genuinely addressing concerns, and knowing when to ask for the close (e.g., inviting them to secure their date with a deposit when you’ve covered all their questions).

Upselling & Cross-selling

For vendors with multiple services or packages, we also coach on how to introduce upgrades in a way that feels helpful. Maybe you’re a caterer who can also provide floral – we’ll help you integrate that into your sales flow. Or a planner offering coordination plus décor rentals. Learn to maximize each booking’s value without scaring clients off – often it’s about timing and presentation.

Let's Create Some Buzz!

Our coaching can be done one-on-one or in small groups (if you have a sales team or multiple people who interact with clients). We offer workshops via video calls, on-site training days (travel fees may apply), and even provide call scripts and email templates as takeaways. Think of us as your personal sales trainer, cheerleader, and accountability partner. We’ll practice with you until you feel confident.

Why invest in sales coaching? Because all the marketing in the world only brings people to you – what happens next is what actually books the business. If you often get inquiries but not enough conversions to bookings, this is the missing piece. We’ll help you increase your booking rate, which directly boosts your revenue without needing more leads. It could be as simple as tweaking your approach or adding a friendly phrase that makes clients feel at ease.

At Local Buzz, we know sales in the wedding/event biz isn’t about slick talk – it’s about building trust, listening, and guiding clients to a decision that makes them feel happy. We’ll help you refine those soft skills and share insider tips from the industry. By the end of our coaching, you might even enjoy the sales part (imagine that!). You’ll certainly enjoy seeing more of those “Yes, we’d love to book you!” emails hitting your inbox.
